Hard to forget the wonderful smells emanating from the bakery. My younger brother, Larry, used to stop and get a fresh cookie on our way to Jax Beach Elementary.

So you are the reason some of those eclair trays were empty at Arnott's! Dad & I tried to eat them all! Beach parking was a primary reason for living, & a major disappointment to me too. About 10 years ago, Daytona Beach was one of the last beaches to allow driving & parking. I drove on the beach there & took photos, as I figured it might be my last chance to do it. I too love beaches & water, & fortunate to be enjoying both on Grand Isle, Louisiana - about 80' from the Gulf, with beautiful night lights from 38 oil rigs across the horizon. However, Katrina/Rita & Gustav/Ike were great adventures - if nothing else.
