Enjoy the articles of so many from Fletcher, most,if not all, always bring back pleasant memories. However, there was/were unhappy events as well.I was a member of the Elsir Behner Little Theatre during my Fletcher years (42-48).A fellow member worked weekends at/on the roller coaster, testing the rails, retrieving lost articles, etc, dangerous job!One Saturday, there had been a rehearsal at the "Theatre" and,I went home thereafter. The phone rang,I answered it,there had been a horrific accident,at the roller coaster site. Our fellow "thespian" had been killed at the site, hit or run over by a roller coaster wagon, having been sent up for a test run.I never went to that area, until that monstrosity was torn down.

I remember Elsie Behner's Little Theater too. We sang, acted, danced our hearts out. I never knew any locals ever rode the roller coaster, because pieces of rotten wood kept falling off. In the spring, you would see men nailing it back together. I did ride the Ferris wheel, even after I noticed that the seats were attached to the wheel with bent coathangers. Hey Beverly Roberts, remember me?
