SAND DUNE PARTIES
Feb 14 2007, 8:28 AM EST | Post edited: Feb 14 2007, 8:28 AM EST
Remember the moonlight "picnic parties" among the sand dunes, where a chilly offshore breeze would force you to find a low spot where the dunes & underbrush broke the wind? The campfires helped to keep the girls warm, but you sure couldn't talk them into going for a swim in the dark. 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

1. FIRE TOWER

Does anyone remember the very old dilapidated wooden fire tower (?) at the north end of Ponte Vedra Beach? During the early 1950's, we used to climb that unsafe monster. It was between the beach & A1A. Do you find this valuable?

I think the "fire tower" was really a coast watching station built during WWII .There were also horseback patrols up and down the beaches back then. N. Doughtie 55 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?
