THE GEOMETRY OF A PRANK
Feb 17 2007, 10:25 AM EST
Dr. Garth Akridge taught geometry - "the mathematical study of the properties of lines, angles, surfaces, and solids." Well...our whole class utilized all four during lunchtime. The good Doctor always locked his classroom, so someone got the bright idea to open a window, and get the whole class back into their seats before he unlocked it. Even the girls agreed, which made it even more fun......ahh....geometrically speaking. Dr. Akridge had a totally surprised look on his face when he entered the classroom, but it quickly turned a bright red while he was "blowing his stack." I don't recall anyone getting into trouble over it, but it was a hoot.

Dr. Akridge was my grandfather. What a great story to hear. I would love to hear anything else you have on him. I read this to my father and he loved it. He was one of my all time favorite people. Thanks so much for the story. Got any others about him?
In December, he is being honored for being the first president of Jacksonville University. Do you find this valuable? |
